We had my cousins over for dinner and they helped our kids with a egg hunt it was really cute and fun. One of the most laid back Easters in a long time. We usually have many more people with us.

Colorado

When I went to colorado in March I was so excited to see my friend Elisa who lives in Seattle we both came to Colorado and had fun getting together. We had to get a quick snapshot and here are the other things I did while I was there:

Casa Bonita, they are about to enter Black Barts Cave.

We went to the museum of Natural History and Kemarie and uncle Kenny wanted to be mummies.

Altough it was the very end of March a snow storm hit as if it were mid january and so uncle Kenny thought it would be fun for the kids to go outside in the crazy snow and make smore's in the porch fire pit.

We went to the aquarium and met with my two best friends from highschool and we never could get a picture with all of them together, but Kemarie and Kayla at least sat next to each other for more than four seconds so we got a picture.

I bet you all think I purchased this at some high end bakery, well I fooled you all. I made this all by myself(o.k. my brother-in-law put it in the oven and actually cooked it). Isn't it so beautiful. Hooray:) Delicous by the way as well. It crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside, a little piece of perfection.

Party Time

For Kemarie's friend party we went to her preschool gymnastics place. It was so much fun. They had a coach who set up a obstacle course to start out and then took them to jump on the long tumbling tramp. Last the coach took them to the preschool area and just let them go wild. And boy were they wild I will tell you what.

Once they were sufficently tired we took them up for cake and ice cream, opened presents and then took all the kids home. I did not have to clean up anything and when we returned home I was not exhausted it could have lasted another hour and I would have been fine.

I am really bad at taking pictures during big events like my sisters, and their kids visiting for a week. We had a awesome time. We went to the Draper temple open house, the dead animal museum, took the kids swimming, and just hung out. I did get one picture of my nephew and my two all fighting over Lucky.

Dane is peacefully napping and after 3 hours I start thinking WOW lucky me, he rarely sleeps more than two hours. 3 and a half hours later I decide maybe I should check on him to make sure he is o.k. Turns out he got into a bottle of lotion and covered his head as well as all the bedding. The worst part of this is he has done it with daddy's colonge and hair gel on two other occassions. He is truly a messy kid. Kemarie only did something like this once during nap time she got into the desitin and that is hard to clean up.

Dane falls and bumps his head, nose, arm, some partof his body daily. In the top pciture he is showing off his egg (soory not a great picture). It was a really bad fall. So (second picture) he funs to the freezer to retirieve the much needed booboo buddy. This fall was no joke the fourth major fall of the day. I think Kemarie has had as many major falls in her whole life as Dane has in the past month.

A couple weeks ago Kemarie and her friends signed up for a cheerleading clinic, and at the end of the week long practices they were part of the halftime show for the highschool b-ball game. It was so funto wach the girls the girls attempt a cheer routine.

Well Kemarie gave me a heart attack again this time she wasn't looking for school. on Sunday after church Tyson told me he was leaving church and I assumed he had both children with him. So I went on my merry way finishing up relief society things and walked home(we only live one block from church). When I arrived home Kemarie was in tears and Tyson told me that she could not see me at church and so she walked home alone. I almost died. My little girl crossed the strret by herself and walked home. after shedding a few of my own tears I awarded myself mother of the year award.

Yesterday as a family we were getting ready to eat dinner by staringt with a prayer. Kemarie was the designated prayer and she could not remember how to start and mom and dad both said," dear heavenly father". Ok she was ready. she started right and then she looks up and says, "here comes the beautiful part I love Jesus" and then she continued her prayer with the usual three year old stuff. If you are not laguhing hysterically then I guess you had to be there.

Today is our first official day of Christmas. We are leaving in the middle of next week and wont be back until the first of the year. We decided to do our won Chrsitmas before leaving. they were very excited about all thier presents and had to open each one immediately. The two presents I made myself I took pictures of them in them. The tutu and superhero cape. I will put a better picture of those soon. After presents we had a traditional breakfast of abbleskievers.

Our Ward had a Christmas party and the theme was the Polar express. The train made three stops one at a reading of the book and hot cocoa, one was a room of nativities and a movie and the third stop was a humanitarian aid room. After each stop everyone met in the gym for a big dinner. It was very cool and the kids loved being in their pajamas for a party.

Hospital Aftermath

In the middle of November Kemarie took a trip to the hospital to see why she was having frequent urinary tract infections. she had to be sedated via IV and so she was doted on hand and foot and came home with all these new presents. One of the dolls had an IV in her so they could tell her what was going to happen to her on a doll first. She did really well and This is her sleeping peacefully on the couch right after we came home with all her new presents. Results are sorry this is not very pleasent but she refluxes her urine into her kidneys when she goes potty. We now need to see a urologist to make further action.

Riverton trips

I have a best friend I grew up with in Colorado, and she now lives in Riverton with her husband and kids. We love to go visit. In one the kids are jumping on the bed listening to music on youtube, the second picture is Kemarie and Dylan hugging goodbye. It is fun to watch one of my highschool friends kids grow up with mine.

So the day after Halloween we went up in the mountians with our friends and rolled our pumpkins of a hill to watch them get destroyed(at first I felt like we were going to get arrested or someting it was wierd). Well to get there we had to do a little four wheeling. kemarie was in the jeep with her friend Kassandra. kassandra's dad was driving and kemarie yelled out to him, "Aaron you are freaking me out." I guess he is a scary driver? Some times I wonder about that girl of mine. I am sorry for no pictures of the children in thier costumes. I am going to make them put them on tomorrow and I will post them soon.

This was Tyson's creation he did not even use a pattern, but it took him two hours to carve. for some reason my really cute pumpkin has no picture to document. I guess that is the life of mommy hood you are often forgoten. oh-well.
Dane wanted a spider pumpkin. yes I know, he is almost two and still has a binky and very large feet.
Kemarie wanted the bat pumpkin and so here it is. Dont you love the closed eye smile!

Vernal/Canning

Last weekend we went to Vernal to visit Tyson's family. while there we went four wheeling and found an amazingly beautiful canyon the picture does no justice. The last picture is Dane and his cousin Daxton eating a snack. They had so much fun together. Dane's favorite thing to do was tackle him and I think Daxton was not really sure how to handle the situation. Kemarie of course was more than happy to boss them around and loved the attention from Grandma and grandpa.

Canning

The last thing we did was can apple sauce. It was fun especially since the apples were free. We did learn that we need to remember to add the water we boiled the apples in to thin out the sauce. I don't have any canning pictures but I am very proud of myself because I canned 12 quarts freezer jam, 24 quarts of peaches, 16 quarts of pears, 18 pints of Salsa, and 17 quarts of apple sauce. First time canner and all with the help of my wonderful mother in law and my good friend Jessica. Thanks for all the help.

Pumpkin Patch

For family home evening a few weeks ago we went to a local pumpkin patch and let the kids pick their pumpkins. they had a blast picking thier own pumpkin. They also had a really cute little hay bae maze for kids to run through. the huge pumpkin of course was the one Tyson picked out. It was cute to have both kids excited about Halloween coming soon.

This is about 36 hours after Tyson had his bike wreck up Provo canyon on Saturday. We rode our bikes from our house to provo canyon( I was proud of myself). Just past the mouth of the canyon there is a park and I decided to take the kids to the park and let Tyson and our friends ,Jon and Talia, keep going. Almost an hour later I see them coming toward the park and onlyTalia came over to see me and the kids and I thought thatwas wierd, she told me Tyson wrecked. I went to see him and Tyson had blood all over his face and hands (these pictures show the cleaned up wounds they were a lot nastier)it was pretty gnarly. I think he was suffering from shock because he was acting strange. Luckily for us there was a race which ended at the park we were at and so they had a First-Aid station.While he was getting all cleaned up there Jon and Talia rode bikes home and brought the car back so we did not have to ride bikes home. I asked him what happened and we have determined he knocked himself out because he isnt sure where he hit and how and he does not remember a whole ton of what happened.

Lake Powell

Every year for the past 20 years we have gone to Lake Powell with my Dad's side of the family in September. we usually go at the end of September, but this year it was scheduled for Labor Day weekend (perfect). For the past two years we have not been able to go because my dad died right before we were going in 2006 and in 2007 One of the grandpas in charge was having surgery. So I was really excited. This year was especially fun because Kemarie was old enough to really enjoy the lake and swim all by herself (with her life jacket on). It was really fun to see family again since I live a state away from them I only see them a couple times a year. The only down fall was we slept in the basement of the house boat and had to share our bed with Dane and he is not a calm sleeper lets just say that.

These are the aprons I decided to make for our church's enrichment night (this was a couple weeks ago). we decided to do a service auction. people donated items/services/baked goods and the women bid on these with service points. It was way fun and I really had fun teaching myself how to sew aprons. Not to bad if you ask me.

New Bike

Kemarie got a big kid bike from a garage sale and Dane was very jealous. He found his big wheel bike gave it a good shove and said "no bike" and ran to try and get on Kemarie's. So Tyson told Dane if he would get rid of his binky (pacifier) then we would buy him a big kid bike. Dane looked at Tyson told him "NO" with all his spite and anger. Resentfully he sat on his big wheel bike and took off. He is just a little bit attached to his binky don't you think? Tyson, It was worth a try. I guess we have to find another way to rid him of his binky. Anyone have any suggestions?

My sweet Kemarie was saying her prayers a few days ago and it made my heart melt. In her prayer she blessed everyone who has diabetes(her little five year old friend just found out he has diabetes) and bless me not to get it. Bless me not to have to get shots and eat the icky food.

They are much smarter then we give them credit for that is for sure. It is always the little things that make me love being a mother.

Sniffing Spree

My dear daughter Kemarie was eating spree candies last week and being a curious little girl she wanted to see if she could put one up her nose. So a few hours later and many tears we were at the pediatricians to fix the problem. Luckily by the time we saw the doctor the spree had melted enough that they only had to get her to swallow the candy through her sinus cavity and into her throat. Then they stuck an even huge cotton swab with antibiotic ointment to stop her nose from swelling and make it feel better. Here is spree candies just for a better visual.

Durango reunion

Over July 24th week my mothers family had a reunion in Durango, Colorado. It was really fun and I had the chance to see a lot of family I do not see very often. I saw my cousin Michelle and that was really fun, she took me to downtown Durango on my birthday to go shopping. It was fun to see her again. (Michelle I had fun and will see you at Christmas) We were really good friends growing up and I have such great memories of when we were younger.
Some of the things we did was tour an old Gold mine, See old Ghost town, swim in hot springs, visit Mesa Verde, Drive the Million dollar highway and more. See following posts for pictures. Enjoy pictures of the beautiful scenery we encountered.

My favorite part of our trip was the Ghost town we went to see. This town was known as Animas Forks and was an old Mining town North of silverton, Co. I only got a few pictures, but it was incredible view and many of the buildings were still intact. The picture on the bottom was my favorite house.

These are some of the ruins of the puebloan people or commenly known as Anasazi in Mesa Verde. It was really amazing to learn that in this Desert climate their water came from rain on top of the cliffs and would filter through the rock to the back of the cliff dwellings where it would cumulate. I also can not imagine these people bringing all their materials for building homes in the sides of enormous cliffs.

While my mom and sister where in town we went to see the hot air balloon launch of. It was fun to see them up close. Once the balloons wee in the air they were suppose to have races and play games with eachother, but the wind was not cooperating and we did not want to stay and wait.

Happy fourth

Happy fourth of July a little late. Kemarie and Annebel watching the parade. We had a ton of fun. My mom and sister came to celebrate with us, on July fourth we had a crepe breakfast with the ward and then got our great spots for the parade. after the parade we went to the festival and watched our fireworks in Stadium of fire. Miley Cyrus was the show, but blue man group was much more exciting to watch. The fireworks were great, but the ride home (which should only take five minutes) ended up taking 1 1/2 hours.

New Bike

Dane received this bike a few weeks ago, but this picture was taken right after we put it together. he loves bikes and when Kemarie tried to get on he was not a happy camper. This is how it went down

Zoo

In June we went to the Hogle Zoo. We met a bunch of Tyson's cousins and thier children. It was a lot of fun. We suck at taking pictures however we did get the classic picture by the metal elephant. The best picture taken of the animals was by Kemarie(our little photographer).

ZIONS TRIP
So we went to Zion's a few weeks ago with some friends and Dane discovered four wheelers. he wanted to be riding 24/7. Poor daddy had to take him on at least 10 rides every day. Not only did Dane love the fou r wheeler, but he liked to go fast. he liked it faster then I did. We eventually had to hide the four wheelers, because if they were in view Dane would crawl on top of one and cry until someone took him. Kemarie went on a couple rides and was good for the weekend . She liked it, but not like Dane. We also hiked weeping rock which was beautiful and just long enough with the kids.Dane's first of many many many rides.

BUNK BEDS
our most exciting news is bunk beds (wow silly things get moms and dads excited these days). We decided to take Dane out of the crib(he was trying to crawl out and kept falling on his head), and make Kemarie sleep in her room with her brother (instead of on our floor). so we put op the bunk beds. We were geared up for a hard transition. The first night took a couple hours, Dane kept crawling up the ladder to sleep with Kemarie. The second night Dane crawled out twice, and the third night was the charm. He went right to sleep. He is sleeping better in his big boy bed then he ever did with his crib. I also moved all the toys up in their room and out of the living room. Hooray!

Ready for School/ Shower time

For the past few days Kemarie talks about going to school. I think she finally decided if I did not take her she would go by herself. Here is the fabulous story which left me slightly afraid. I was upstairs and I heard the door shut down stairs. I went to see who was there and it was Kemarie with her backpack on. I asked her where she went and her response, "I went to school, but I couldn't find it anywhere." my question," where did you look?" Kemarie,"I went down that way(pointing down our super busy street) and that way(pointing in the opposite direction). I will never know if she really went down the street or not, but that was enough to give me a heart attack. Which only added to the excitement because a few days earlier, Sunday to be exact, she answered the door(luckily to my visiting teachers) telling them ,"oh my mommy is in the shower with my daddy". Then she ran up stairs to tell me my friends were here and they brought me a special cookie to eat. I am sure my visiting teachers got a good laugh out of that (This is where I go inactive). I guess it is time to put child proof locks on our doors.

Tyson loves to show how strong he is. he wanted to try and get three people on his back. He has Christian.,Mitch, and Liz on his back for all of one or two seconds. Go baby!!!!

On Valentines day we decided to embrace the fact that we had children and we did a fondue party with cheese and chocolate fondue. Well it was a big hit and mom and dad had fun cleaning all the chocolate off everything. This will surely be a tradition.
I came down stairs and found my kids had emptied an entire box of fruity pebbles. This is the picture after my dog had eaten half of the mess(one of the major perks to having a dog).
WE went to the Chidrens Museum in Salt lake city the beggining of February and we went with Kemarie and Dane's second cousin Mariah. We couldn't get pictures of all of them together because they all wanted to do thier own thing, but here a few cute ones. Mariah's loved getting stickers and thought they looked best on her face.
when we went to the Childrens Museum in February and we could not keep Dane away from the water table. By the time we left he was wet up to his shoulders.

Kemarie has now been caught twice using marker all over her arms and legs. Unfortunately this is the mild version. The other episode she was all blue and anything she touched turned blue and so I didn't think about a picture, I threw her in the bath immediately. I am jsut grateful It hasnt been my couches or anything else for that matter(knock on wood).

Friends or Foes?

YesterdayDane and Kemarie were having the greatest time together. I was amazed they were actually interacting and playing together. It is very satisfying as a mom to see your children who fight over everything and love to inflict pain on each other to actually play for more than five minutes together. Yesterday we also went to the children's museum and they both loved it. Of course being who I am I forgot the camera and as a result countless kodak moments will be forever lost. This is where the super cute pictures would be. Oh-well.

Sorry everyone. I have not blogged in a million years. I have been on vacation at my in laws and my moms for the past three weeks. That does not make it easy to get any blogging done. Well we had a great Christmas. kemarie was very excited this year for Santa to come. She would sing Santa Clause is coming to town a lot. We spent Christmas At Tyson's parents house. Mitch was home form his mission and so the whole family was together. It was really nice. Christmas eve consisted of our traditional crab boil. If you never have had one I strongly encourage it. Kemarie loved being with grandma and grandpa. After Christmas we went to Colorado to visit Keera's family. We spend New years eve there and had fun playing movie scene it and drinking martinellis. We are excited for this new year and are hoping to do better with our blogging. We just got new tenants in our duplex and they have a wiemriener(silver grey hound looking dog) named Toby and Lucky is very excited to have a friend. Kemarie is also excited to have new neighbors. We are excited about the new tenants they are super nice and are expecting a baby at the end of January. Dane is having fun trying to learn to say things. He loves to say "Dada ", "Mama" and "gog" which means dog. I know there are other words he says but I have not figured them out yet.

I was doing laundry and Dane wanted me to hold him and so Tyson just picked him up and put him in the dryer. Kemarie thought that was fun and so she decided to get in too.

This was one of the favorite thigns the kids played with Christmas. Kemarie received it as a present last year.

Thanksgiving Cruise

We just returned from our eight day Caribbean cruise. We made port in three different countries. First was Colon, Panama, Limon, Costa Rica and last was Belize city,Belize. Very fun and adventurous especially since we were brave enough to take our two kids. Kemarie had a blast. The cruise provided activities for kids her age from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Dane was a little more work, but he still had fun most of the time. My mom and all my siblings and spouses came as well. It was fun to be with the whole family,but very tiring as well. I am an early to bed person and my mom and sisters like to burn the midnight oil, so needless to say I am exhausted. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving and gained as much weight as I did on my cruise(jk). Here are some pictures to get a little taste of our vacation.

This is Dane and his cruise girlfriend Isabelle. He realy thought she was something. He followed her around the pool for a while.
Dane's favorite thing to eat on the cruise was ice cream cones.

All the kids just love thier Uncle Kenny. This is Dane and Zeke with Kenny.This is the whole gang at the Panama Canal. It was cool,but not my favorite thing we did. it takes a long time for anything to really happen. At least I can say I saw it.A picture of the panama Canal in operation. A very slow process. It will cost a ship 100,000 to 300,000 dollars to go through the canal. A ship will wait 24-48 hours in the harbour before they are called to go through the canal.At the pool again. Kemarie has stolen aunt Lauries hat and we took a few pictures.Dane was not very sure of the ocean, but he was having a blast in the sand. he ate it and loved putting it in his diaper. Eventually we had to take the diaper off. That was a fun mess to clean.Kemarie on the other hand prefered the oceanhands down. She wanted to go out really far. My brother said when he took her out she said, "Let go Kenny I paddle fast." She thought she should do it all alone. She cried when daddy Kenny and Brandon went swimming as far as they could. She wanted to go.Our cute little Cabana on the beach. My sister Jessie decided to keep all our bags safe. There werequite a few locals scout out our stuff.This is our server from India. We did a little cha-cha one night and he pickedup the two little boys and danced with them. The boys were a little leary.This is in Costa Rica preparing for their famous zipline. You fly through the trees on a thick cable. All the ladies looking hot as can ever. What a ride!! If you ever make it to Costa Ricalyou have to try ziplines. These are our guides and everyone who ziplined. A little preview of the midnight buffet that cruises aref amous for. I have no pictures of the actual buffet because between this time and that night my kids found the camera and hid it. It was not found until the second to the last day of the cruise.Mommy and Dane just hanging out at the port in Panama.

Happy Birthday Dane

Dane turned one on November 4th. I can not believe how fast this year has gone. My mom and sisters and Tyson's parents came out it was fun to have family there. I am embarrassed to say I do not have any pictures of his actual birthday on my camera, because I was running around like crazy. My mom and mom in law have pictures (I will try and post them at some point). we had a bunch of people over for pizza dinner and cake. We tried to do a Cars theme because Dane loves to play with toy cars on the floor. ( It is strange to me to see how different a little boy and girl are even though they are so young) The cake was adorable and so were all eight of the children under five tearing the presents open and tearing my house apart.
I did however capture this adorable video of him a week ago. He was completely infatuated with the water and was trying to hold on to it like a solid object. Then he decided to start drinking it and he was surprised by getting water in his nose. Kids are such a crack up.

Getting Around

Dane has discovered his favorite way to get around is to find an object and push it around. He will push a chair, stool, potty chair, whatever is closest and push it around the floor. He has taken a step by himself, but this seems to be his transportation of choice so who knows when he will be brave enough to walk solo.

I am a Child of God

Kemarie has recently started learning the words to I am a child of God (a church song). The chorus is suppose to say "Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way". Kemarie's version is "teach me, hide me, help mommy find the way." I keep telling her she has to help me find the way if she is going to sing about it. I love how kids learn songs or sayings and manipulate it to what they think they are hearing.

it is finally October. I am so excited to get ready for Halloween, and wear warm clothes for the winter ahead. I love eating soup and Chili.
Just yesterday we were at church and Kemarie turned to me and Tyson and said "This is not church, this is princess castle. I think we got a few things mixed up somewhere. Dane just took his first step this week. I think the fact that there is a girl (Kylie) in our ward who is younger but walks,and it has given Dane a little more confidence.
Tyson and I have just begun a new work out regime and it is really fun. We are trying to get realy sexy for our cruise we are taking in November. It is fun time we spend together and get hot bodies at the same time(hopefully). we are not doing the food plan 100%, but who really does. I think when I physically write down that I am doing it I will be more successful.

Halloween Pics

Here are the kids getting geared up for Halloween. One of my best friends came out for a couple weeks and we wanted to carry on our tradition of themed pictures for Halloween. We had 6 kids under the age of five. Can you imagine anyone being able to take a picture and get everyone looking? Well amazingly we got a couple. Jon the photographer took so many pictures. Super cute. Here are a few of them. One of the only ways we could keep the kids in one place and not crying was by stuffing candy in their mouths the whole time. the other two mothers(Elisa and Tammy) designated me as the clown to keep the kids happy and looking, and I think Elisa and Tammy were more entertained then any of the children.

Hi everyone. I was suppose to start this blog a long time ago, but was slightly lazy. It took my friend Elisa coming out to Utah to visit to actually get it started. I am hoping to make my posts a more regular occurance to keep all you out there updated on what we are up to. We live in utah. Tyson is working for a construction company as a engineer. We live in a beautiful house that was built in 1892. We have two children. Kemarie and Dane. As you can tell one of Kemarie's favorite things to do is entertain her brother( the other favorite is torturing him).
